My daughter Emily has or had JDM which is part of the Myositis family...I wanted to post our story to you for what worked for us ..I think the product we used would help you too. I just read all 14 parts of your story. I am from San Juan, Puerto Rico and I suffer from DM. I am taking 5 mg of prednisone (which they are taking up to 15 mg) 200mg of Imuran and 1 shot of methrotexate weekly. I recently discovered the little painful calcinosis and some scrapes in my chest, ears and rash in mu back. Its so heartwarming to read your story. Also it scares a little because you went through that downhill and had a hospital stay for 24 days!! I just finished my bachelors in nursing and just want to work even though I know I don't have the energy right know to do it!!! I didn't knew who you were until I read the story and know I'm a big fan!! I even posted some of your songs on my facebook page so my friends get to know you.
